HMC’s Sleipnir Installs Jacket and Double Siemens Energy Offshore Transmission Module Topside for Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm

Heerema Marine Contractors’ largest Semi-Submersible Crane Vessel, Sleipnir, has delivered a major lift for Scotland’s energy future, installing the 68m tall jacket and then the 2700t double Siemens Energy offshore transmission module (substation) for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, the Scottish nation’s largest offshore wind farm just 21 km off the Angus coast.module.

When fully operational the wind farm will be able to produce nearly 5 TWh of clean energy per year, enough to power half of Scotland’s homes.

Offshore precision. Safe, clean, and on time, like clockwork.

This milestone at Inch Cape Offshore Limited’s wind farm was made possible by Sleipnir’s dedicated crew, 250+ specialists at Smulders, and more than 80 UK subcontractors. A powerhouse collaboration across borders and disciplines.

Heerema Marine Contractors is proud to support Scotland’s energy transition, one heavy lift at a time.
