Develon Launches New DX270WMH-7 Wheeled Material Handler

DEVELON, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has launched the new DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler. Incorporating new undercarriage, arm and boom, elevating cab and counterweight designs, the new DX270WMH-7 is built to improve performance for the toughest tasks across a wide range of material sorting and handling applications.

Built on years of experience with previous models, the DX270WMH-7 is purpose-built for the rigorous demands of waste and recycling operations and comes with a range of improvements and enhancements:

A new undercarriage

Its newly designed undercarriage features heavy-duty, wide axles and extended dimensions, including a longer and broader footprint with a matching wheelbase. Combined with individually controlled stabilizers, this setup ensures outstanding stability and durability, even on uneven ground or in debris-filled environments.

Upgraded engine performance

Powered by the latest generation Develon 6-cylinder, tubocharged DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, the DX270WMH-7 provides an output (SAE J1995) of 141 kW (189 HP) at 1900 RPM.

Hydraulic cab riser improvements

With an increased elevation range of up to 2,603 mm, the newly designed hydraulic cab riser significantly enhances all-around visibility of both the attachment and the surrounding work area. The updated system also features a faster elevation speed, giving operators quicker, more responsive control during operation.

Longer reach and higher lifting capacity

The DX270WMH-7 offers a longer reach and a higher lifting capacity, with different options: the standard straight arm, gooseneck and long gooseneck arms. The straight arm configuration offers the bucket linkage and standard coupling for the use of sorting grapples. The gooseneck arms provide a cost-effective solution for use where suspended attachments are being employed. Arms and booms have been designed specifically for material handling tasks, with the emphasis on durability and lifting stability.

Operator controls and hydraulic efficiency

Ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel make the material handler easy to operate. The machine comes equipped with two-way auxiliary and rotation circuit hydraulics to improve efficiency. The operator can use buttons on the joysticks or an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments.

Smart Power Control system

A special Develon-developed system, Smart Power Control (SPC), improves machine efficiency while maintaining productivity through variable speed control and pump torque control, automatically adjusting RPMs according to the load being handled.

Virtual wall and safety systems

To enhance operator and site safety, the machine features an innovative virtual wall system, allowing for customizable operating boundaries to prevent accidental contact with obstacles in front of the machine or with ceilings when working indoors. The system also prevents the risk of contact between the attachment and the cab and the surroundings.

Reversing fan system

A reversing fan comes standard, helping to maintain optimal engine temperatures by automatically clearing dust and debris from the cooling system.

Cab design and safety features

The very latest DXW-7 cab design provides a comfortable interior and ergonomic layout, including an 8-inch gauge panel and smart controls provided by the very latest operating technology. The elevating cab incorporates structural reinforcements to ensure smoother operation and provide better protection of components. Two safety valves, one inside the cab and one outside, ensure emergency cab descent.

Combining improved reach, power, visibility, and operator comfort, the DX270WMH-7 sets a new standard in material handling performance for challenging applications across the waste, recycling, demolition, and timber industries.
