[Job Story] Palfinger’s PALDRIVE Boosts Icelandic Fleets with High-Tech Cranes

Four powerful PALDRIVE complete solutions from Palfinger have been enhancing the vehicle fleets of Icelandic construction companies Landstólpi ehf, Borgarverk ehf, Fossvélar ehf, and Þjótandi ehf since Spring 2025. In collaboration with a new distributor partner Kraftur hf, the delivery was completed.

The delivered vehicles are equipped with two PK 92002 SH and two PK 135.002 TEC 7 crane models, both representing the highest lifting capacity, outreach, and precision. The combination with the PALDRIVE vehicle concept ensures an immediately operational, perfectly coordinated solution for demanding tasks.

“With PALDRIVE, we offer a comprehensive solution from one source from the setup to the fully operational vehicle. This makes it easier for our customers to enter new projects and increases operational efficiency.”

says Gerhard Luger, Head of Sales & Outbound Product Management Installations at Palfinger.

Technology That Makes a Difference

A key feature of the cranes is HPSC-Plus LOAD, an intelligent stability system that offers even more outreach by considering the vehicle’s inclination and current load condition as additional parameters for stability. This allows the crane performance to be automatically adjusted according to the load, optimizing the work area even in challenging situations.

The system is complemented by P-FOLD, which allows the crane to unfold and fold with just one lever movement. Combined with RTC (Rope Tension Control), which automatically ensures optimal rope tension, setup times are reduced to a minimum, making daily operations more efficient and comfortable.

“The delivery was a great success. Our customers appreciate the intelligent technology as well as the well-thought-out vehicle solutions. Together with our new partner Kraftur hf and Bjarni Halldór Kristjánsson as trustworthy contact on site, we see significant potential for further expanding our activities in Iceland.”

says Gerhard Hager, Senior Product Operator at Palfinger EMEA.
