Van der Vlist’s First UK Truck Arrives at their Base in Hull

Van der Vlist’s Hull 5,000m² location has long provided services such as Fourth Party Logistics, port and terminal operations, and storage.

Now, they are taking it further: offering dedicated special and heavy transport services.

This milestone reflects months of careful preparation by the team and it’s certainly something to celebrate!

The Van der Vlist right hand drive DAF XF 530 was built in the UK and supplied by a local dealership in Hull, equipped with all the safety features needed for UK roads. The truck then travelled to the Netherlands for custom modifications to meet the demands of special and heavy transport. These upgrades included modifying the coupling system to accommodate European (semi) low-loaders and installing a specialist fifth wheel. This fifth wheel is rated for 65,000 kg and is both height-adjustable and sliding, ensuring maximum versatility for the vehicle.

Focused on UK routes, the truck plays a key role in connecting with our European network. By synchronizing schedules, we can efficiently pick up loaded trailers as well as unaccompanied machines from UK harbours, ensuring seamless cross-border operations.
